The District sets water allocation quantities with the objective of promoting customer conservation. Allocation volumes conform to industry standards for normal water volume use. The District has established tiered pricing such that customers staying within their water allocation pay for water at the Disrict's base consumption rate. Customers that use more than their base allocation pay a higher incremental rate for water in excess of their allocations. Water in excess of the base allocation but less than 150% of the base allocation is currently charged at 2 times the base rate. Water beyond 150% of the base allocation is billed at 3 times the base rate.
The District sets irrigation allocations at 30 inches of water per year times the customer’s irrigable land area and establishes indoor allocations based on industry standards for the relative size and use of properties.
