Irrigation Conservation Practices

  • Allows for lawn irrigation between May 1 and October 31.
  • Water lawns no more than three days per week.
  • Lawn irrigation shall occur between 6:00 pm and 9:00 am
  • Allows for watering of trees during the day time, if possible
  • Allows for watering planter beds outside of the hours noted above to avoid damaging perennial landscaping.
  • Do not waste water by allowing it to pool in gutters and streets.
  •  Do not waste water by letting it spray 3 feet beyond the designated irrigated area.
  • Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days (an irrigation system may be operated outside the watering schedule for installation, repair or reasonable maintenance, so long as the system is attended throughout the period of operation and water waste is minimized during the maintenance work)
  • Do not water while it is raining or during high winds.
  •  Allows for establishing new turf planted between May 1 and October 15 through a New Turf Variance (“NTV”) issued by the District for a period of not-to-exceed 30 days from District’s NTV approval.
